Q 1, 2. What experience have many had, and what questions could be asked?
SOME years ago, a woman was deeply disturbed by a tragedy that occurred in her neighborhood. Born into a Roman Catholic family, she went to the local priest for help, but he was unwilling even to speak with her. So she prayed to God: "I don't know who you are... , but I know you're there. Please let me know you!" A short while later, Jehovah's Witnesses visited her and gave her the comfort and knowledge she had sought. Among many other things, they taught her that God has a personal name, Jehovah. Learning that was a very emotional experience for her. "Imagine," she said, "this was the God I had longed to know since I was a child!"What a made up experience!
''A tragedy".......what was the tragedy?
"Born into a Roman Catholic family".......we don't know her name or what the tragedy was but we know for sure what religion the WTS can attack.
She goes to a local priest for help but he was unwilling to speak to her. .........Was he too busy? What time did she call? Why won't the writer tell us why he was unwilling to help? Maybe he had no answer to her heartfelt prayer but we all know the answer is around the corner..........Writing department, please tell us who would be the only one to answer her prayer?
She prays to God and God answers her prayer by sending Jehovah's Witnesses a short while later. She gains all the knowledge she needed.
That is our study today...... JEHOVAH'S ANSWER TO A HEARTFELT PRAYER

Horrible conduct by congregation Elders at my cousin's funeral.............
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy cousin passed away last week from cancer at the age of 49. the cancer spread so fast it took our family by surpise.

Thank you all for the comments and experiences.
ORANGEFATCAT:
I don't blame you for feeling that way. The Elders don't have a right to control a funeral. Some of them feel they need to control every minor detail. They need to respect everyone who walks in and leave all their authority at the Kingdom Hall.
My cousin( who came from out of town and is not a Witness) observed the behavior of the Elders. He was so upset by the behavior of the Elders that he refused to go to the luncheon. He came back to the home and told the husband of my cousin who passed way........" I saw how some people treated your son today. Leave the religion out of it. You needed to take care of your son a little better."

Dealing with the death of their mother was bad enough but the conduct of the congregation Elders made it worse. The disfellowshipped child had to:
* leave the house when his mother died because Witness relatives were coming over to the house to visit the family.
* had to stay on the side of the funeral room at the wake by himself while the rest of the family sat in the front chairs.
* Elders refused to greet him in the line. They walked right past him.
*He was told not to attend the luncheon after the funeral. He left alone and went home because some members would not attend the lunch if he was there.
I spoke to him by phone for 3 hours after the funeral and was told that he will never return to being a Witness the way he was treated. He felt that the actions of the Elders made everyone else treat him the same.

BLONDIE.........ANOTHER GREAT WT STUDY!
Notice how Jehovah doesn't dwell on minor failings in paragraph 3 and how he has shown consideration even toward unbelievers in paragraph 4 but somehow changes his attitude in paragraph 13-15. King David commits adultery and murder (which were major failings) and stays alive but Achan's ,Anania's, and Sapphira's (which were minor) dealings deserved death.
3. Jehovah's primary interest is in the inner person-who we really are at heart. (Ps. 19: 14; 26:2) Lovingly, he does not dwell on minor failings. For example, when Sarah, the wife of Abraham, spoke less than truthfully to a materialized angel, the angel evidently saw that she was afraid and embarrassed, so he simply gave her a mild reproof. (Gen. 18:12-15) When the patriarch Job declared "his own soul righteous rather than God," Jehovah did not withhold a blessing from him, aware that Job had suffered intensely at Satan's hand. (Job 32:2; 42:12) Likewise, Jehovah did not take offense at the frank words of the widow of Zarephath to the prophet Elijah. God understood that she was grief-stricken at the loss of her only child. -1 Ki.17:8-24.
Q 4, 5. How did Jehovah show graciousness in the way he dealt with Abimelech? 4. Because Jehovah examines the heart, he has shown consideration even toward unbelievers. Consider his dealings with Abimelech, king of the Philistine city of Gerar. Abimelech, not realizing that Abraham and Sarah were married, took Sarah to become his own wife. However, before Abimelech could go any further, Jehovah said to him in a dream: "1 too have known that in the honesty of your heart you have done this, and I was also holding you back from sinning against me. That is why I did not allow you to touch her. But now return the man's wife, for he is a prophet, and he will make supplication for you. So keep living."-Gen. 20:1-7.
Q 13. How did wrong thinking evidently contribute to Achan's bad conduct? 13. In direct violation of God's command, Achan took spoil from the city of Jericho and hid it in his tent, likely with the complicity of his family. When his sin was exposed, Achah showed that he realized the seriousness of what he had done, for he said: "I have sinned against Jehovah." (Josh. 7:20) Like Cain, Achan had developed a bad heart. In Achan's case, greed was a major factor, and it contributed to his becoming deceitful. Since the spoil from Jericho belonged to Jehovah, Achan in effect stole from God, and this cost him and his family dearly.-Josh. 7:25.
Q 14, 15. Why did Ananias and Sapphira merit God's disapproval. and what is the lesson for us?14. Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, were members of the early Christian congregation in Jerusalem. ' Following Pentecost of 33 C.E.. a common fund was set up to care for the physical needs of the new believers from distant lands who still remained in Jerusalem. The fund was maintained by voluntary contributions. Ananias sold a field and donated part of the money to the fund. However, with his wife's full knowledge, he pretended that he had donated the entire proceeds. No doubt, this couple wanted to gain special honor within the congregation. But their act was deceitful. In a miraculous way, Jehovah revealed the fraud to the apostle Peter, who confronted Ananias with his error. At that, Ananias fell down and expired. Shortly thereafter, Sapphira also died.-Acts 5:1-11. 15. Arianias and Sapphira did not fall prey to a momentary weakness. They schemed and lied in an attempt to deceive the apostles. Worse still, they 'played false to the holy spirit and to God.' Jehovah's response demonstrates in no uncertain terms that he is prepared to protect the congregation from hypocrites. Truly, "it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God"!-Heb. 10:31 -

RULES & REGULATIONS
2. As we noted in the preceding article, Jehovah proved to be "the Provider of escape" in Bible times. (Ps. 70:5) He is unchanging and true to his word; hence, his worshippers today have every reason to trust in him to "help them and provide them with escape." (Ps. 37:40) How has Jehovah provided escape for his servants in modern times'! How may he do so for us personally?
9. What about today? As "the Provider of escape," Jehovah certainly can deliver individuals frorn perilous situations. Can we definitively say whether Jehovah did or did not intervene in specific cases? No. Still, an individual who has escaped a dangerous situation may feel that Jehovah intervened. It would be presumptuous for others to take issue with his feeling. At the same time, we must realistically acknowledge that many faithful Christians have died as a result of persecution, as was the case during the Nazi era. Others have died under tragic circumstances. (Eccl. 9:11) We might ask, 'Did Jehovah fail to be "the Provider of escape" for faithful ones whose lives were cut short?' That could hardly be the case. The writer can't make up his mind if Jehovah is "the provider of escape" or he isn't. Paragraph 2 states that Jehovah "proved to be the provider of escape" in Bible times.Today "we have every reason to trust him to help them provide them with escape."
Paragraph 9 asks the question....... What about today? As "the Provider of escape," Jehovah certainly can deliver individuals frorn perilous situations. Can we definitively say whether Jehovah did or did not intervene in specific cases? No. Also, the writer states that "an individual who has escaped a dangerous situation may feel that Jehovah intervened.
So,long ago Jehovah did provide escape to his people. But today, you may only feel that he intervened.

RULES & REGULATIONS
Blondie,
I went today's snore-fest just to keep peace with my family. The comments at the meetings are like the circus elephants. They are trained to do the same trick over and over until it becomes mundane.
Here is one comment that was made at today's WT Study.....................
Q 1, 2. (a) When do God's worshippers turn to him for help? (b) What question arises, and where can we find the answer? While on vacation, the parents of a 23-year-old married woman learn that their daughter has mysteriously disappeared. Foul play is suspected. At once they pack up and head for home, all the while beseeching Jehovah to help them. A 20-year old Witness is diagnosed with a disease that will eventually leave him completely paralyzed. Immediately he turns to Jehovah in prayer. A single mother struggling to find a job does not have enough money to buy food for herself and her 12-year-old daughter. She pours out her heart to Jehovah. Yes, when faced with severe trials or hardships, God's worshippers naturally turn to him for help. Have you ever called out to Jehovah in a time of desperate need?
2. An important question arises: Can we really expect Jehovah to respond to our prayers for help? The faith-strengthening answer is found in Psalm 70. This stirring psalm was written by David, a loyal worshipper of Jehovah who faced many difficult trials and challenges during his life. This inspired psalmist was moved to say of Jehovah: "O God, ... you are my help and the Provider of escape for me." (Ps. 70:5) An examination of Psalm 70 can help us to see why we too can turn to Jehovah in times of need and fully trust that he will be our "Provider of escape."One sister's comment to questions 1 & 2: " My daughter went missing for 3 days. We didn't know where she was.We prayed to Jehovah and poured our hearts to Jehovah. Jehovah answered our prayers 3 days later when we received a call that she was found.''
What the sister failed to mention was that her daughter went to Cancun,Mexico and met a local .She decided to stay there 3 extra days to spend time with him. She didn't call for 3 days because she was afraid that her mom would not let her stay. She then called her mom after repeated calls to the hotel. The daughter told her mom that there was a hurricane and couldn't call because the phones were dead.
Jehovah was not the "true provider of escape" in this comment.
